CAUTION: Patients should be educated on test being performed prior to applying the Spec-Tac as it will keep their eye open. The cornea tends to dry out quickly so the Spec-Tac should be used with caution. Once the Spec-Tac is applied, wetting drops may be comforting.

Typical Application: Peel the paper backing from the Spec-Tac. Grasp the Spec-Tac with thumb and forefinger. Place the adhesive against the upper lid. DO NOT TOUCH THE CORNEA. Using the Spec-Tac, close the patient’s lid, then re-open the lid and apply to the lower lid in the same manner as the upper. Proceed to the test immediately. You or the patient can remove the Spec-Tac by gently pulling it from the lids. Apply to the fellow eye in the same manner.

Some testing requires lashes to be lifted as well as the lid. Peel the paper backing from the Spec-Tac. Grasp the Spec-Tac with thumb and forefinger. Place the adhesive against the underside of the upper lashes and press against the outside of the upper lid.

The Spec-Tac is for SINGLE PATIENT USE ONLY.
